PTE

PTE Academic is a computer-based English language test for non-native English speakers who want to study or immigrate to English-speaking countries. It assesses Speaking, Writing, Reading, and Listening skills in a single 2-hour test.

PTE Test Format

The PTE Academic test is divided into three main parts: Speaking & Writing, Reading, and Listening. The total duration of the test is approximately 2 hours.

Speaking & Writing (54–67 minutes): This section assesses both your spoken and written English skills. Tasks include reading aloud, repeating sentences, describing images, re-telling lectures, summarizing written text, and writing an essay.

Reading (29–30 minutes): This part tests your ability to understand written texts. It includes multiple-choice questions, re-order paragraphs, and fill-in-the-blanks type questions.

Listening (30–43 minutes): This section measures your ability to comprehend spoken English. Tasks include summarizing spoken text, multiple-choice questions, fill in the blanks, highlighting correct summary, and writing from dictation.

Scoring

The test is scored on a scale of 10 to 90. You'll receive scores for communicative skills (Listening, Reading, Speaking, Writing) and enabling skills (Grammar, Oral fluency, Pronunciation, Spelling, Vocabulary, and Written discourse). Results are typically available within 48 hours.
